Hanging with Vic

August 31, 2009

Man was it pouring Sunday morning. Some good reading and posting, along with some pancakes, and me and Joe were packed. Reorganized the van, shuffled some things around and said our fairwells. Witless Bay was beautiful and so was St. Johns. I will return one day for sure, that I swear. Me being Mike.
Quick check of the vehicle diagnostics and we jumped on the Trans Canada Highway. Did I mention it was pouring rain? So much so that every now and then you would hit a puddle of water and it was spray everywhere under the car, startle the crap out of ya. We headed out to see our friend Vic from the ferry. I promised him Id by him lunch if he took us somewhere good, more like dinner now. Made it out to Butts Pond East, somewhere lost in between Gambo, and Gander. Beautiful. We missed our stop, but found our way. Down a dirt road, between the trees lies a small log cottage (“cabin” as the newfies call it). One honk and Vic welcomed us in. After a quick chat, and a tour of the place, we hopped into the van up the dirt road, to the Copper Kettle. Exactly what I was looking for. Locally cooked food, mainly wanting the infamous Atlantic Cod. After a few moments, and a consultation with Vic, we ordered the Pan Friend Cod. So good, I think I ate it too fast. Went back to talk some stories over tea, as well as home made apple and raspberry jam with Ice Cream! Talk into the wee hours of the morning, had some interesting experiences with a spirit that was definitely in the house. Went along with an interesting sleep ill tell ya! By morning we were welcomed with the smell of fresh Atlantic Salmon, Scallops and fish cakes on the stove. One of the best breakfasts Ive ever had. Said our goodbyes and snap a photo… til we meet again Vic! Thanks!

Cape Spear!

August 31, 2009

So we settled down a bit in Witless bay at a beautiful little home on the hill, overlooking the bay. You wouldnt believe the stars at night… Im actually writing this on the road as we drive through a very rainy storm, towards Glovertown to met up with Vic for some dinner/lunch… Cod anyone?
While we were at Witless bay we decided to go into town to find a camera charger (finally!). While there we decided to drive through St.Johns, a found a little sushi jount, probably the only one in town. St.Johns is absolutely beautiful. Its a little big city, probably with everything you need, including history and scenery. Except the sushi… Im sure its not what its known for, but the sushi was not a great experience, and grossly overpriced. They even forgot to give us plates! Me and Joe frequently enjoy Sushi in Toronto, some places better than others, but we were very dissapointed here. No need for more details on that subject. Onto the goods! We drove into the mountains around Shea Heights, towards Cape Spear. For those who do not know what Cape Spear is…its the most eastern point of NORTH AMERICA. The edge of the world as I call it. Many cliffs and rocks, wind and grass, it felt like the ocean environment was washing me with its love and history. Cape Spear was definitely on my bucket list of things to do, and im glad its been accomplished. We gotta REALLY close to splashing waves a few times, which just made the experience more unreal… take a gander at the pics.

WHATS NEXT?? the Pacific Ocean! Go West Man!!

New Found Land!

August 28, 2009

We made it!! The end of the earth as I like to say (mike). Well at least it feels that way.
We stayed in Sydney, Nova Scotia, awaiting the ride over the ocean to get to Newfoundland, for about 3 days. We finally boarded the ferry, and it was unbelievable how many cars, trucks, RVs, tractor trailers, and buses can fit on that thing! Looks like it was an old european cruise ship as all the plugs on the ship were those huge euro plugs, that NOTHING can fit into. Glad we found an ‘american’ plug in the lounge area, and turned on a DVD. We got tempted to buy hot dogs and cokes, that EVERYONE seemed to be having around us. During the ride we got to talking to a very interesting man Vic Dalton, a Newfoundland local, whose done almost everything under the sun. He was giving us a history lesson about the fishing here, and a boat 101 on how to catch cod. Even drew out some maps and demograms on how the boats worked.

His maps where cool… he was also an Artist. He told us how he was a fisherman, to an artist, his encounters with ghosts and aliens… twas a cool dude… hes still gunna take us to place where to get cod tongues… ? haha not sure how tasty they will be, but hey…when in rome…
We spent the night sleeping in the terminal once we crossed to newfoundland. It was pitch black, and the population of the moose here towers 200,000 and its a real threat when driving at night, so we used the ever soo perfectly designed bed in the back of our van.
As morning arose, Joe jumped in the driver seat, and literally pounded away 9 hours of driving. I was asleep for half in the back, but for some reason it didnt seem that long. We crossed the whole province… which is huge.
Felt good to arrive to a home, with a home cooked dinner, and some drinks and company. The temperature dropped at night and the wind picked up. Our view is literally on the water… this is what we saw when we woke up…

Im still in awe at the fresh air, and wildlife out here. Absolutely beautiful. Spent most of the day talking, reading, and preparing cheeseburgers as we looked over the water. Took a walk to to a “haunted” site down the street. This place has got soooo much history. Its everywhere, and you can feel it.
Feels like I went back in time, to the edge of the world…

Nova Scotia eh?

August 24, 2009

There was supposed to be some massive hurricane here that would bring strong winds and alot of rain… people were stacking up on supplies and going banana’s. Storm came and went, lets just say we have had worse storms this year in Toronto. There was a bit of rain, little to no strong winds and there was no flooding like they had said there would be. I guess maybe it has to do with the lack of that sort of cleansing here? maybe it was a poor read on the weather as per usual lately… we all know why that is.

We slept last night out over the ocean, could hear the waves crashing in and there was a nice breeze. The stars were like I have never seen. There was enough “milk” visible in the “way” that I could have easily had skid of cereal, you don’t get that sort of thing in toronto or its nearing areas.

Tried to get across the ocean over to Newfoundland today on the ferry, little did we know it was all booked up for today and the earliest reservation is tomorrow. So we’re booked up for tomorrow at 8:30. Should be a relaxing 4 hour cruise ride to Port Aux Basques.

The people out here in Nova Scotia are incredibly nice, the vision out here is relatively community based, people turn and say hi, they help you, you are a part of the community instead of simply co existing with others like in the big cities. Its refreshing.

If you ever have the chance to visit Cape Breton do it! This is easily one of the nicest places I have ever seen in my life. The scenery and ocean is unbelievable.

Its another night, morning and afternoon here in Sydney and then it’s off to Newfoundland. Gonna miss place a little as it was soo nice, but we’ll be back through on the way back west.

Just ran through the NSLC and grabbed a couple beers, gonna relax and enjoy the evening, do some reading and writing. PEACE!

Joe

Hanging on the Edge

August 22, 2009

Hey guys, its mikey.

SO we made all the way out to Sydney Nova Scotia. Hanging off the edge literally if you look on the map. It is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. We were travelling through Cape Breton on the 104, literally pulled over and jumped in the ocean. Waves got big because of the hurricane coming, but it was absolutely beautiful.

We cracked the David Icke Book, the latest one : “Global Conspiracy and How to End it” . Pretty much reveals alot of the world we live in, no matter location. Hes going to be in Seattle, Oregan…just south on Vancouver, so we going to add that to our road trip on October 4th. Hes a must see. http://www.davidicke.com

Joe convinced me to get Burger King and we regretted it, but we are now chilling out, waiting for this hurricane. Got some food, water and gas…ready to roll. We are expecting over 100 ml of rain… might get a little hectic…but should be exciting on the otherhand!!!!!

look how far we are. whoa
peaceout

Hurricane Bill

August 22, 2009

We’re out in Nova Scotia on our way to the Cape Breton area.. Sydney to be exact. With hurricane Bill heading in there’s a hurricane watch here and there could be anywhere form 50 – 100+mm of rain. Winds anywhere from 120km/h – 190km/h. Never experienced a hurricane before so this should be quite interesting. Already the winds are picking up a bit here but its still sunny outside. The rain is said to start sometime this afternoon and it should get real hectic by tomorrow evening.

Last night the energies in the air was something I have never experienced before. There was a definite presence of some sort in terms of higher vibrational energy, not really sure what it was but I noticed 4 or 5 lights that would appear in the sky for a couple seconds and then dart off. As time nears I expect we will see more of this activity, I won’t speculate too much on what it was but I have a pretty good idea. As we move through the last 999 time gate (sept 9th 2009) we will see and be able to experience a much broader connection to outer reality of consciousness and will have to figure out how to live in the broader reality of consciousness while living a much less evolved system until it collapses. Should be intersting.

Off to Sydney!

Atlantic Breezing

August 20, 2009

Ok so, dont know where we ended off last… but ill update you with some stories as Joe tells me about the hurricane coming our way… woo!
So we went to Saint Johns in New Brunswick… interesting little town, lots of fishery stuff, and big freighter boats… Something hella cool called the reversing falls.
reversing falls saint johns
the whole bottom of New Brunswick is on the Bay of Fundy, where the tide comes in an out like 48 feet in one spot… so it looks crazy cool. Beautiful town, very hilly, i mean hilly… like the city is built off a bumpy cliff. Big Purp (the van) handled the trip, and we decided to travel all the way into Hopewell, where you walk on the ocean floor when the tides out. Smelt smoke around midnight into the drive, but it was because we were running the inverter too long, so we thought it would be a good idea to unplug and let her relax. first mechanical scare! lol
Woke up sweating under the sun in the van after battling some persistent mosquitos coming into the windows during the night. Went and checked out the tide… pretty damn cool to see how the water comes in and out about a 48 foot difference.
bay of fundy
(can you imagine they charged us $ to go into a park..jeez). Watched thousands of these small birds fly in huge flocks around the surface of the water as the tide came in.
Photobucket
Peregrine falcons also dive bombed them causing the shore to explode with thousands of little chirps and a sea of synchronized birds looking to reland. Kinda like a movie. Joe kept shooting photos of chemtrails until the camera died (forgot the charger at Julians place = 90$ for a new one = shit = still havent purchased one). If you dont know what a chemtrail is. Look it up. Was happening really intense over here.
Photobucket
We decided to hit up Moncton. Had some lunch at a place called “Mikes” … yes that right. lol
Headed over to Shediac, wheres there a really nice beach…gave that a look, and a dip… in the ocean. yes the atlantic ocean.
Decided to head over to Nova Scotia…right now in Amherst, drinking beer in a wal-mart parking lot, trying a McLobster, driving around looking for wireless connection, singing elton johns version of “stan” by eminem.
cross canada = goodtimes.
HURRICANE BILL!!!!

Edmundston and Fredericton

August 19, 2009

We made it through Rimouski late Monday night and into New Brunswick to a town called Edmundston, still a lot of french people here. We got in pretty late, found a Subway and watched Fargo, sick movie for anyone who hasn’t seen it.

We found a nice spot to sleep some abandoned looking parking lot. The next day we woke up and drove around town a bit and went swimming at the university here before driving over to Grand Falls where we saw some pretty cool waterfalls.

After that we made our way over to Fredericton. Fredericton had a Jumbo Video! For those of you who don’t Jumbo Video is the best video store in existence.. free popcorn while you browse PLUS more and better movie titles than Rogers or Blockbuster who gets rid of old titles! We grabbed a few things from the market and went looking for a parking lot to stay for the night. We found a Walmart where there were already a bunch of Winabago’s parked so we stopped there. We made our dinner which was pasta and mussels and watched some How I Met Your Mother before going to bed, dirt show.

Off to Saint John now to the Bay of Fundy.

Montreal

August 17, 2009

Just spent the afternoon in Montreal couple observations.. people drive like maniacs and the roads ar the bumpiest and worst kept i have been on to date. Not impressed with that. Overall a nice place though. Stopped in and had some great salads for lunch in the downtown core and now we are off driving down the 20 to New Brunswick.. 5 hours left till the border.

Another small note, we found stickers posted around downtown Montreal that look like this (Obama as the Joker):

These are all over the Alex Jones website trying to expose a lot of what is going on in the US government. Glad to see its being spread everywhere, things are getting interesting 🙂

More pics of Montreal to come soon.

Peace

Monday morning Wake Up..

August 16, 2009

Just woke up, about to drive Julian to work and its about to pour big time here. Off to Quebec today finally. It’s goodbye to Julian now 😦
