Back on the Road… for awhile now…

I KNOW I KNOW! We haven’t posted on the CC blog for awhile. Well, thats going to change. Im going to post a huge update and then follow up from there… CHECK IT.

Ok, so we’ve been back on the road since Thursday, trying to get out of Ontario. Let me tell you, its not as easy as you think. Ontario is HUGE! We first stayed somewhere in Scarborough at a friends house, cooked up some secret potato and tomato dish. The same one we had when we left to go to the East Coast. Woke up, jumped in BIG PURP (the van) and we were off. Headed up the Hwy 400 towards Sudbury. We were looking to hit Sault Ste Marie, but we left late and ended up in the BURY. Really nice place, found a comfy spot to sleep. Felt good to be back in the van. I got some cool shots in the morning.

We bought some veggies, forgot to go check out the giant Nickel, and headed to the “Sault.” Now, the Sault, has a huge italian population, and of course me and Joe decided to stop by at Pino’s. Grabbed some italian bread, olives, pickled veggies, and some unreal antipasto mix. Throw in some olive oil, and it was a lunch ill never forget.
We decided to drive up to Thunder Bay, but never made it… lol (Its far!). We got maybe a third of the way. Northern & Western Ontario is absolutely beautiful. Driving through the Valleys and Mountains, Rivers and Lakes was fantastic. We found a place on the side of the road to sleep. It looked like a hunting trail, but it was only for the night. It gets reallllly dark out there, but the stars were unbelievable. Afraid of bears, we keep the windows closed… lol.

We finally made it to ThunderBay. Nice little town. The last stop of the Legend, Terry Fox. His memorial was really cool. Got some good shots.

So we kinda stumbled upon a Casino too.. Next thing we knew, we were drinking crown and cokes, watching the roulette table spin over and over. Bad idea. lol
After ThunderBay is Kenora… and WERE STILL IN ONTARIO! its been like 3 days lol.
Best part, as we were leaving, a beautiful BALD EAGLE flew right in front of our van, like 10 feet away, and it soared over us. It was carrying something for its nest, and I got a real good look at it. Ill never forget it, its burned in my brain. I’ve always wanted to see one in person. Check that off the bucket list.

We finally made it into Winnipeg, Manitoba. Its funny how everyone says Central Canada is flat… Ill tell you what, the instant we got in Manitoba, it flattened out.. straight, flat, and full of crops. Canada is such a cool place! Cant wait for the mountains. Winnipeg was an interesting city. The roads were a little crazy, but we handled it. One of our first missions, was to find a SWISS CHALET. The GPS found it, but unfortunately it didnt exist. Swiss Chalet is not in central Canada! So we found Indian food, unreal! Then after dinner we found ourselves searching for 1 of 2 Casinos in the city lol. On the way, we discovered the most box store plazas I have ever seen in my life. There was every store you can imagine. Im from Toronto that has almost everything, and this had more. Kinda scary in a way. After Joe won some chips, we crashed at Wal-Mart, and woke up to some of our Canadian friends :

Off to Regina we said. Prairies all the way. Regina was really nice… also had a casino. That was the last time im going in one. Joe somehow later on convinced me to purchase Arby’s for dinner. Bad idea. Probably the worst food I’ve ever eaten.
We discovered that Saskatchewan has alot of UFO and crop circles sightings, so we headed out into the prairies to sleep. Such a wicked experience. We meditated to try and contact ETs, but that story is for another day…
We saw a deer, heard the coyotes coyotes howl in the night and pester the cows in the morning. Damn those cows are HUGE.

After some subway breakfast, and some tips of what to see and do in the area, we headed to Saskatoon. And thats where I write you this. Its beautiful outside, and im sitting in a park with Wifi. Whats next? Cowboy hats….?
